Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist
Dr Elizabeth Goode is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist providing care for patients with disorders of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. She holds public appointments at the Mater Public Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, and consults in private practice with Mater Hill Gastroenterology.
She provides general gastroenterology services, including diagnostic gastroscopy and colonoscopy, as well as liver stiffness measurement using transient elastography (FibroScan). Her clinical interests include all aspects of general gastroenterology, endoscopy, hepatology and viral hepatitis.
Dr Goode completed her medical degree at Imperial College London and undertook specialist gastroenterology training in the UK, including at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge, a specialist liver transplant centre. She completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge and Sanger Institute in the genetics of immune-mediated liver disease. She moved to Brisbane in 2020 where she completed her specialist training.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr Goode is involved in research as a clinician-researcher at QIMR Berghofer, with a focus on liver disease. She enjoys caring for patients across the full course of their condition, from investigation and diagnosis through to long-term management, and values clear communication and continuity of care.
